We needed an agency operating system. It didn't exist at our size.

Why this product, and not the next one

Running our own agency, we counted nine separate tools serving the basic stack, tasks, time, credentials, invoicing, client updates, retainer caps, profitability reports, file storage, status pages for clients. Most of the time the day's job was not the work, it was syncing the tools. Pasting hours from one place into another. Reminding teammates which sheet the next column went in. Re-explaining to a client what they could've seen in a portal if a portal existed.

So we built the tool we wanted to use. It runs our own agency end-to-end. Every feature was added because we hit the wall ourselves first, then realised the wall isn't unique to us.

What we believe

• Flat pricing is honest pricing. Per-seat fees punish you for adding a junior. They were invented to extract maximum revenue from large customers, not because they reflect the cost to serve. Auctores Helm is one number for the whole team, the same number whether you're two people or six.
• Opinionated beats configurable. The right answer for a 1-6 person agency is not "12 view types and a Rules engine." It's a working defaults set you don't have to design. Auctores Helm ships with the workflow already wired together.
• The client view is the product. Most tools treat "what the client sees" as an afterthought CSV export. We built the portal in parallel with the operator view from day one, same database, no drift, no copy-and-paste status updates.
• AI you can turn off. The AI features are useful, Gmail-to-tasks, briefs, client profiles, but they are features, not the product. Every workspace admin can kill the AI entirely with one toggle. Spend is capped per organisation per day so a runaway prompt can't evaporate your budget.

Who builds it

A small team inside The Auctores, the same people running the agency the product was built for. We're reachable directly at connect@theauctores.in. There is no ticketing queue and no offshore support layer; your email lands in the same inbox as the engineer who shipped the feature. That's a deliberate choice and the single most important reason we built Auctores Helm to feel sized for a 1-15 person agency.

Where we are

Auctores Helm is early. The Auctores team uses Auctores Helm to run The Auctores, and our day-one external customers are friendly agencies we know personally. We're intentionally growing slowly, every new workspace gets founder-level attention while we learn what actually works for teams that aren't us.
