Auctores Helm vs Asana

Asana tracks tasks. Auctores Helm runs the agency.

Asana is one of the cleanest task managers ever shipped, for an internal team. Auctores Helm assumes you're billing clients for your hours, sharing credentials safely, sending invoices, and giving each client a portal to see status. All of that is in the box, from $39/month.

Pricing
A 5-person team on Asana Business is ~$125/mo before add-ons, and that buys tasks only: no time tracking, credential vault, invoicing, or client portal. Auctores Helm bills by band, not by head.

Pick Auctores Helm if

  • Your work is billable client work, not internal initiatives.
  • You want time + credentials + invoicing without bolting on three more tools.
  • Your clients ask "where's my project?", a portal kills that thread.
  • You don't have time to build out Rules, Custom Fields, and a setup project.

Pick Asana if

  • You're 20+ people running a product or marketing team (not an agency).
  • Custom forms and request intake are the heart of your operation.
  • You need Asana's powerful Rules engine for cross-team workflows.
  • Your team already lives in Asana and you're optimising around it.

Common questions

Can I import my Asana projects?
Manual CSV import works for tasks. Asana's API isn't yet wired into Auctores Helm, on the roadmap. Email connect@theauctores.in if you have a big migration and we'll work through it.
What time tracker should I use with Asana instead?
Most agencies on Asana pair it with Harvest or Toggl ($10-12 per user per month each). Together with Asana Starter, a 4-person team is ~$80-90/mo. Auctores Helm replaces both, with time tracking native to the task, and bills by band rather than per person.
Does Auctores Helm have Asana's portfolio view?
Auctores Helm's Clients board fills the same role for an agency: every active client on one screen, status pill, hours-this-month, top open tasks. It's not a generic portfolio, it's a client roster, which is what an agency actually needs.
What about Asana Goals / OKRs?
Auctores Helm doesn't have an OKR module. If you need quarterly goal tracking inside the same tool, Asana wins. Most small agencies track quarterly goals in a doc and revisit monthly, that's the use case Auctores Helm is designed for.
